Emergent Church Issues/Brian McLaren

"McLaren makes his first point that Christianity needs to change with the culture and times. According to Brian we also apparently need a change of operations manual, the Bible. The Bible is the “map” for true Christianity from the beginning to the end. What McLaren proposes is that over time, like geography, maps change and so our entire perception of reality must change to keep in lock step with the world. The basic fact that Jesus Christ never changes, that the truth of God’s Word never changes and is always applicable no matter what century you come from, and that Christians are to be light and salt to the world working to change worldviews to a biblical one is no longer part of the palate of the New Age, postmodern, “emerging” Christian. This opens the doors wide to new revelation, a new “Breed”, a new paradigm, and very old heresies."

Visited the Website of what very much appears and is known to be an Emergent Church ...on their statement of faith/what we believe link, then under the heading of Relevance, they actually stated that part of their faith/beliefs is that of what McLaren stated.
so very sad

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
2 Tim 4:3-4

Spurgeon States that the first step toward Apostacy is when men forsake the Truth to adore what is false.

" In looking carefully over the history of the times, and the movement of the times,
of which we have written briefly, this fact is apparent: that where ministers and
Christian churches have held fast to the truth that the Holy Scriptures have been
given by God as an authoritative and infallible rule of faith and practice, they have
never wandered very seriously out of the right way. But when, on the other hand,
reason has been exalted above revelation, and made the exponent of revelation, all
kinds of errors and mischiefs have been the result."

C H Spurgeon

What other people do is none of my business but for years I’ve been wrestling with some of the trends and level of politics and patriotism within the church. . But this article speaks my language it resonates with my spirit and shares my concerns. So for now, all Is at rest and Jesus He’s The only answer. Maybe someone out there feels the same way I do. I hope this post finds you and this article encourages your heart like it did mine. You aren’t crazy  Pray 🙏 That’s why you see it the way you do.

Thank You Lord !

https://firmfoundationpv.org/worship-103-genre-and-style-in-church-music/ Lord you answered all my questions, Thank You. You Counsel us with Your loving eye upon us. Psalm 32:8 I remember many years ago when The TV show American Idol began. One of the finalists shared kind of an awkward song well it just sort of seemed out of place. It was unfamiliar , extremely personal, beautiful, but it really fell flat. He even sang it like he was sort of alone in the room and we were all just watching his personal  moment. It left me just sitting there scratching my head. When  he finished it was then time for the judges to give their input. Simon Cowell really shockingly scolded him and said that his choice of music was “self-indulgent. “ What does he mean by that ? I thought about it Took me a while I think I know what he meant and I never forgot it. He forgot who he was singing to he forgot he had an audience. It wasn’t only about him, but who he was singing to and for. …….,so m...

Cheryl's FaceBook Quote

"Dark is life's way, for the night is not yet o'er; the longed-for glimpse I may not meanwhile borrow; But, this I know, He goeth on before." All our supply is to come from the Lord. Here are springs that shall never dry; here are fountains and streams that shall never be cut off. Here, anxious one, is the gracious pledge of the heavenly Father. If He be the source of our mercies they can never fail us. No heat, no drought can parch that river, “the streams whereof make glad the city of God.
