I can't believe I read the above this morning in my devotional..So timely...This verse from Revelation she is referring to has been on my heart since Easter Time. Wow. My heart has wings with hope. Thank You!
Revelation 3:12
He that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
This Spring I learned the contemporary Hymn, 'O The Blood' sung by Kari Jobe. The song brings something fresh to my heart. A pondering upon Him who overcame sin and death for me. Thankful there is a power given through the blood of Calvary. Not just the resurrection power to overcome that final death and live forever with Christ but the power afforded me through the blood at Calvary for my daily living.'The Blood that gives me strength from day to day will never loose its power'. It meets me in the daily grind of life, in the rubber meets the road issues that I am facing today. I can be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. I will rise above this world full of tribulation and He has made it possible to rise above the misty lowlands again and again and again because of grace upon grace upon grace.
"And he shall go out no more"
We move in many different directions at times in futile attempt to meet the deep needs of our own hearts. We go in and out. We look here and there Ever dissatisfied. Living on 'flat potato chips.' that have lost their saltiness. May the day come when we go in and out no more..but go in and never leave..no more wandering.
"Prone to wander I can feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart Lord take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above."
May My name be changed ..my' DNA' reordered. Draw me and I will run afresh..MAKE MY FEET....to run once again. Hungry to be Hungry again or I will die of lazy stagnation and famine here. Same pitiful story different day. The problem is me. You have always delivered me from me, you will again.
To the over comers! Be brave strong and courageous...He is with you wherever you go.
We daily press to some degree and are pressed on every side. May we be pressed for His glory like wine to the presser. An old song stated that the Hungry man didn't pick and choose he just went where there was bread and he pressed through. It is a humbling thing to return sometimes with your tail between your knees begging for bread in order to hear a word that brings life and fresh stirring. Oh Lord you have the words of life, where else would we go? May we all be in that good company of hungry men; men hungry to be hungry, men thirsty to be thirsty, pressing upwards and onwards unto that high calling in Christ.
