Defender of our Souls

There is a Time to keep silence, and a Time to speak
(Ecc. 3:7)

We all have been misunderstood one time or another in varying degrees. There are times when we are called upon to explain ourselves. There are times when we are called to be silent and allow our Great Defender who is our eternal defense, to be that Great advocate on our behalf. There is no battle that is not won and overcome if we would just run to that throne of Grace and Mercy restraining ourselves from reacting and acting in our own strength. My Faithful Helper will help me today. Difficult? Yes...But an identification with the God who understands, our God who was and still is rejected and despised of men. There is always life that comes forth from such a painful wound as He Himself our Comforter is that faithful friend that sticks closer than a brother.
We welcome and desire the judgments of God who is good and sees all, our Great Potter upon us His clay. But the judgements of man and brothers can sometimes rip your heart out. We have all done it to each other. In our imaginations and in partial information we have acted as judge and jury in self righteousness showing no mercy in our over confident and critical incorrect assessment of a situation. I think I am very good at reading people, discerning and insightful, but man I have blown big time at times and have been dead wrong, painfully wrong....and ashamed of what I have thought about another or have allowed myself to be persuaded by the overhearing of damaging tales. Only God sees all. He knows our hearts better than we do ourselves.
God choose to make Himself of no reputation before He created the first man, knowing the frailties of man, and his propensity to sin and incapability in his own strength to be holy. Jesus made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant and coming in the likeness of man.....despised and rejected of men. His Father knew Him like no man did, and in His Son He was well pleased.
There are times when our 'enemies' speak that we need the wisdom to listen because they may be telling us revelatory truth that we need to not immediately dismiss but Go to our heavenly Father and ask Him to search our hearts. Yet, There are times when we need to see like an x-ray the accuser of the brethren who is at work accusing you and me to one another, to the 'world' and to the Father.

Should such a man as I Flee?
Nehemiah 6:11

We read in the book of Nehemiah that there was a conspiracy against Nehemiah who was at work doing the Lord's will in rebuilding the wall. Men gathered together in their evil intent and wrong motives ..... they demanded Nehemiah to come to them to be questioned by them and to explain himself. Nehemiah did not comply but stayed focused not being moved by the 'fear of man', he tarried on the wall at it's near completion, leading the other brethren builders, watching guard with his trumpet bearer beside him to sound the alarm lest any attack come against the people of God and the great purpose of God that was given him to complete.
Four times they sent messages for him to come and four times he denied. But on the fifth time a letter was written containing the accusations against him. They accused him of planning a rebellion, they accused him of wanting to be King...as if he was doing all this for his own vain glory and want of power. They accused Nehemiah of appointing himself his own false prophets who would prophecy his own vain platform. They accused him of using people and basically being a fraud. They threatened Nehemiah that they would report these things to the King... so 'come therefore and let us consult together.'
Nehemiah again does not comply with their request to meet but sends this message, " No such things as you say are being done, but you invent them in your own heart."

What other people do is none of my business but for years I’ve been wrestling with some of the trends and level of politics and patriotism within the church. . But this article speaks my language it resonates with my spirit and shares my concerns. So for now, all Is at rest and Jesus He’s The only answer. Maybe someone out there feels the same way I do. I hope this post finds you and this article encourages your heart like it did mine. You aren’t crazy  Pray 🙏 That’s why you see it the way you do.

Thank You Lord !

https://firmfoundationpv.org/worship-103-genre-and-style-in-church-music/ Lord you answered all my questions, Thank You. You Counsel us with Your loving eye upon us. Psalm 32:8 I remember many years ago when The TV show American Idol began. One of the finalists shared kind of an awkward song well it just sort of seemed out of place. It was unfamiliar , extremely personal, beautiful, but it really fell flat. He even sang it like he was sort of alone in the room and we were all just watching his personal  moment. It left me just sitting there scratching my head. When  he finished it was then time for the judges to give their input. Simon Cowell really shockingly scolded him and said that his choice of music was “self-indulgent. “ What does he mean by that ? I thought about it Took me a while I think I know what he meant and I never forgot it. He forgot who he was singing to he forgot he had an audience. It wasn’t only about him, but who he was singing to and for. …….,so m...

Cheryl's FaceBook Quote

"Dark is life's way, for the night is not yet o'er; the longed-for glimpse I may not meanwhile borrow; But, this I know, He goeth on before." All our supply is to come from the Lord. Here are springs that shall never dry; here are fountains and streams that shall never be cut off. Here, anxious one, is the gracious pledge of the heavenly Father. If He be the source of our mercies they can never fail us. No heat, no drought can parch that river, “the streams whereof make glad the city of God.
