Led Worship this past Sunday.
This week in Service we sang the popular worship song, 'Take My Life.' It is a beautiful prayer asking God to form ,transform and conform us into His likeness; A cry for holiness, faithfulness and righteousness. When we sang the verse that asked for Righteousness, I was reminded that we are already made Righteous by the Blood of Christ. We already stand 'complete though incomplete.' 'Done yet undone.' So what is the righteousness that we are singing about, that we are hungering for?
'And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of saints'
Revelation 19:8
In our compartmentalization of worship in the church we are left with a focus upon what we do...the Sunday morning outward expression of worship. But God calls a people and gets to the root of who they are. He wants to free us up, grow us up and bring us into maturity as believers. Who we are precedes what we do It is never to be the other way around. The correct foundation produces right responses, right actions that glorify God. We are to worship Him in spirit and in truth and that truth needs to penetrate the inward man. He desires it so. Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6 I am to worship 24/7. My Whole life is to produce a 'lifesong.' A song who's composer is the lifegiver Himself. It's not my song. He wrote the lyrics, the melody, the tempo, and produced a manuscript for us all to follow. It is the song of the Shepard, the song of the redeemed that we are all called to sing.
So my 'righteous acts'....I heard someone say once are my right choices. My worship to God is in the choices I make. My right choices become as worship. When I choose Christ,I submit myself under His word, His will, His way, His purposes, I worship Him. I choose Whom I will worship with every choice I make. I choose everyday whom I will serve. I can clothe myself in right choices, adorn myself with righteous acts like His bride fitting for such a groomsman and worshi.p Him. Offering up a sweet aroma to our Savior. I can say 'Yes Lord Yes..To Your Will, and to Your Way...and when Your spirit speaks to me with my whole heart I'll agree, and my answer will be Yes, Lord, Yes!.
'Righteousness, Righteousness Is what I long for, Righteousness Is what I need, Righteousness is what You want from me.'
My choices will 'take me there.' May I sow in the worship of Him more and more, with my whole heart, with my whole life. May my choices 'take me there'...may they take me by directing my heart to His Heart. He is worthy.
Kim, read Mt. 5,6,7, I believe these are the righteous acts of the saints (holy ones). Compare Rev 19: 7-10 to Eph 5:22-33, Jn 15:3. Then look at Mt. 22:3-14 (wedding feast, wedding clothes)
ReplyDeleteIn John 15:1-17 (abide) produce the fruit of the vine, (love, righteousness) the wine of the marriage supper of the Lamb.
There us going to be a wedding!
